you know when...

Things just seem to be going awry? nothing seems to really go your way or something just sets you off in a bad mood? I feels like one of those days today or rather one of those months! Today I just can't shake the bad mood feeling, the failure feeling, I want to get myself by the shoulders and give them a good shake but it wouldn't change things.

I would like some good news for a change, something to go in our favour, anything! don't care if its a lottery win or just something good!

I have mentioned previously how i hated form filling and that of a particular government form? well we got knocked back for our renewal which means two parts of our money were stopped. Which technically means we are down by a wage in the house. It's a lot of money that we are currently missing and  with Christmas coming up all i can see is decorations and things for the family that I can't pick up and can't even bother to look at because  there is no point. All of any extra money we have is being spent on the very tightly reigned food shop. Not that it is bad to reign ourselves in a bit but  it was tight enough as it was!  Our renewal was knocked back on the basis of the very vague report the gp sent in, late mind you i was hounding them over it and god i wished i hadn't bothered!! they didn't bother to get in touch with one of the main people my daughter sees, her dermatologist. I feel like taking people's heads and hitting it against a wall for all the aggrivation they have caused! So we are appealing the decision but need to get dermatologist to write a letter, she has and she's sent it.. has it arrived here??? nooooooo twice they've sent it out and no sign of the bloody thing! i've checked the address too. At this rate i will have to personally go and pick it up! and might send it on as a recorded delivery so i know it's got there! Royal mail are a total waste of space imo!

They (DLA) are telling us that our 6 year old girl can basically care for herself, so  would you trust a child to put on cream to all over her body, hard to reach places etc and rub it in properly, steroid creams which are potent, inhalers, nasel spray, anti histamines, bandages when needed etc? hell i've been told some adults can't even handle their care and so they expect my daughter too and that it is no greater then any other 6 yr old. Erm... pardon? how many other 6 year olds are waking up in the night hysterical over leg/ joint pain, or are tearing at their skin trying to claw it off because it is itchy and not caring if it bleeds. I couldn't cope with that as an adult!  It is alot of work and care that goes into her care not that i begrudge doing it but i don't have to do this much effort with the 21 month old! It's heart breaking! she suffers so much and yet she doesn't let on when it comes to things like this, yes if she falls over the world is ending but eczema itchy? not bothering her.
On top of all that her asthma has been plaguing her ! and after two weeks dr still says it is tight, winter is going to be a bug bear i think!


So on top of that the little boy has been ill for the last 5 weeks, firstly it was hand foot and mouth, straight after that he got a chesty cough that hasn't left him for 4 weeks, took him to the drs ( didn't want to be fobbed off before hand) and found out that he has tonsillitis ... thankfully he takes his anti biotics without much fuss!  It is a bacterial infection and on top of that he has a viral infection, as he had a rash, was being sick etc. Then we have me who has been having problems for a while and got a phone call today asking me to go and speak to the dr who said that she wouldn't need to see me when i saw her on Saturday unless it was different... oh fab! and i have to wait for the news next Friday, nice way to spend hubbies week off work!!

Speaking of which there is an event on next Friday that he doesn't wish to speak about!! wish i could do more for it! not that he would let me and might try and see it as a normal day ... he wishes! heh.


There I think i might have got it all of my chest for the time being and don't have to keep explaining whats the matter. As well it's a lot of crap at the moment!!  It's hard enough with the eczema but with the rest of it? well  it's enough to make me want to go and cry. or eat the packet of biscuits down stairs! Either way ! over and out for today!

Mummy moments

Well another week has gone by and it is Saturday again!  swimming shopping the usual set out for today and the cleaning of a bus tomorrow ( don't ask!!)


Little man has a chesty cough with plenty phlegm to go around which is all coming out  now  must make sure i take lots of tissues with us today because yuk! not pleasant! We had a productive dermatology appointment last week which i forgot to mention. We got given a new nasal spray for all of daughters sniffing! and it has worked thankfully!  she still has black circles under her eyes but its better at least and her eczema is.. ok. Well as okay as it can be with her,  though picking is a pain as she has picked her head again grah!!!  i really wish she wouldn't. But least she has done it now and not earlier in the week when we had school pictures!! though her eczema on her neck was flaring. I will have to wait and see what the picture comes out like!

Have a few mummy moments this week:
Thomas being more aware of himself and telling me when hes done something in his nappy! well its one step towards potty training not that I am going to rush him, I don't plan to potty train him until he is past two !

Another moment, for those of you who don't know we are club members of Eddie Stobart trucks ( thanks to eldest.. and hubby :-p) and so we are quite happy to go looking out for the names. And even the little man is in on the act calling out "Bobart" when he sees one!  Sorry it's the cutest thing ever. Even sat on the couch at 6 am the other day with a little book of them he kept hitting my arm and going. " mummy, mummy... Bobart" pat pat on my arm. " mummy, mummy bobart!! car! (car transporter) " his speech is really coming along now and he is saying things more clearly! he might not  babble but he  does get us to understand what he wants.

Now for my super star,  my daughter is a good reader ( funny that this time last year she had only just begun to read) and now she has just gone onto lime stage books which are the top end of 7-8 year old books ! she has just jumped two stages again!  she is now on bigger books for school  and i do hope they don't expect her to read it three times! not sure  she could manage that just yet! Not sure I can keep up with her, i love reading myself but don't think i was this good so young. Then again dyslexic yada yada!

So proud of them both! I know little man is learning anyway but  he does take notice of what we say and takes it all in. And so i'll leave my mummy boasting there for now :)  even if her teacher playfully said my daughter was a genius lol. Scary ! hope she keeps this up

Seriously?

I dispair sometimes, the intelligence of humanity is bloody scary, or rather the lack of it!  I don't claim to be smart, not in the slightest, I have learning issues that do really bother me sometimes especially my memory and It is not something I can help.

But I try and read up what I can and get information on what I can, I don't boast to know everything but I think i know quite a bit when it comes to Eczema now and things. So much so i think about going into the field sometimes! but wishful thinking lol. But peoples lack of knowledge on the subject scares me, surely if your child has it you would go and look it up? see what people say? how they manage etc. Seems we are answering the same questions all the time.

But in the last couple of days I've found people don't even have the decency to read how to spell my name, Rachelle, look, not so hard its just a bit more then a Rachel but no I've had Rachel and then Rachael in the space of days and it drives me mad! Rachelle...Rashell (say as) not so hard is it? especially if you are reading it off a screen its not so hard to copy it!

Or being pointing out the obvious of things, well all i feel like typing is well Duh!! but i don't i restrain my fingers and don't type anything and so i've saved all my annoyed ness for here ...sorry!

I want to take some of these peoples shoulders and shake them. Oi pack it in, go and read up some things or go find the brain cell you are hiding because it is needed!!

Alright, Alright I'm sorry its been so long, between posts. I just found no urge to do a post, or rather i wanted to do one then i had toddlers wanting to stay up or just no energy to go and post!

Now I know most are thinking er what do you do all day, you are at home looking after the toddler, well yes I am but my days are often filled with going to play groups, to school and back, to crafting clubs, and like today to appointments. Now for once we had a good night which has been a bit of a sore point lately. But last night but the little man down to bed and he was out by 8, he did wake at 9 but didn't take long to put back and he slept through till 5, now this might seem awfully early but we are normally up at half 5 as is with daddy so I counted myself rather lucky that i managed to sleep from about 10 -5!! first time in a long time.

Because even with our daughter, its hard to get a full nights sleep with her eczema and leg pain and whatever else, throw in a baby and that was just a silly combination. Not that i would change them for the world.

Daughter has been back at school now since September and its nearly half term ( one more week)  and she is enjoying it and doing really well. Her reading abilities are scary! that she is several years above her class mates.

Her eczema isn't doing particularly well at the moment, and i think its a combination of the cold weather coming in and the flu jab she had last saturday but thankfully we had a dermatology app and we are trying out some new things, as well as a nasal spray which now she is 6 ( birthday last week!!) she can now use because all i hear at the moment is her sniffing and its driving me mad so I don't know what she must think of it but she did say earlier her nose was hurting :( I wish she wasn't going through all this. It sucks to see her scratching so much and constantly at odds with herself.

So many school meetings and health professionals and things! blurgh!!

I shall leave it there for my first blog back after hiatus, normal weekend ahead of swimming shopping and usual veg fest lol. take care x

Thursday crafts and Friday Market

Thursday crafting sessions at the Library are back!! well we did miss last weeks as daughter was so tired coming home from school I just didn't want the fight having to go back into town etc. So last week we gave them a miss but yesterday we were back and these are our wares! hedgehogs! I apologise for it being upside down but you get the jist of it! and the bottom three were made out of old books and lots of folding. Which daughter took forever with and didn't want any help ( hers is the silver nosed one. one of mines eyes had been pulled off by a toddler...)  I enjoyed doing them! and for once little man did not scream the place down and was happy helping me or playing on my phone ( No i don't care would you rather he screamed?) 

Also go to try out a new little play group as our regular one wasn't open, though yah for it being back on next week! bonus point of going to this new one was something a little different and though this doesn't happen often we got free cake! cookie cheesecake omg yes please!! I'm a pig  and need my plus points! 

Today me and the little man went to the Market in Hindley and it was really nice, its slow at the moment and only a couple of stalls but the more people that go, the more stalls will come so come on!! got some tea tree soap, cakey ( very nice cakey!) biscuits, scone and free tea cakes also some eggs.  The eggs are lovely, normally with store bought eggs I've had some tummy issues but with these nothing, and normally little man gets hives and nothing with these. though today he refused the scrambled egg.. silly boy!

Not quite sure where this year is going, its going by so fast! its fast approaching my daughters birthday in October. No big party like last year but hoping to do something for her. .. not wishing the year away because i don't want my little man to come up to 2 so quickly ! 

Sorted out a few issues with school and their duty of care, which i will go into at another point! And we finally have reading books home and little miss wizzed through them without a problem. Was rather shocked! but impressed all the same.

Alright will stop the mummy boasting, but its better then the pity party. Usual stuff maybe more on Sunday but depends on this horrible weather system! 

Sorry

Sometimes I feel I need to feel sorry for a lot of things, things that are not even in my control and I have no hope of trying to understand and interpret.

Firstly sorry for not being so up to date with the blog recently, just felt I didn't have much to say or just similar things and again didn't want to bore plus my evenings have been a bit hectic due to little man. I'm trying to get him into his own room or rather use to his own bed, and its proving a little hard. just because in the middle of the night i'm getting up several times and I can't and won't let him just cry as he will then disturb my daughter and then that is just going to cause problems.

I feel sorry I'm not the mother I think I should be, I get stressed far to easily ( which everyone can vouch for) but also have a lot to deal with. Not saying anyone else doesn't but feel really stretched sometimes. And we seem to have had alot of things with school, I worry that I am going to be soon as one of "those" parents pestering over little things but to me, they are not little these are things and after all they do come into Duty of care! which has been failed recently. So looking forward to this school meeting coming up. But with some talking with hubby we are going to do more family days out and events. I want them to look back and remember a happy childhood.

Partially I think I should say sorry for not being the friend I could be, I do my best, I do have a young family with extra care needs to deal with. I don't like to go drinking and clubbing was never really my thing. I feel I have lost touched with a lot of people and It upsets me a little. Would it be so hard to come for a coffee at the weekend? I know people have work, my children don't bite ( yet) but sometimes I feel i have moved a different circle when I haven't, I'm still Chelle.  Also I have tried to do the contacting but it shouldn't all be one sided especially when there are reunions involved.

And enough for the pity party for today! stay tuned for the better one tomorrow!

What a difference! daughter was off to school today and the volume level in the house was so much different! heh i didn't have children fighting over toys, no voice raised at children. No annoying kids tv well not all day anyway! It was nice to be able to get some time with the little man who was happy to potter around, play with the hoover and generally just be himself without fighting with his sister!

I was even lucky enough for him to fall asleep in his pram when we got home whilst i was doing the hoovering of all things! Can't complain at all really.

She seems to have enjoyed her first day at school and got a award for working so hard with her numbers ( I think they must have been trying to make first day back fun! she doesn't find it hard to count to 20 after all) though she is a bit disappointed that they have told her she is on the same level of books she was on before she broke up for summer even though they told me she was moving up two bands.. hrrm! not sure whats gone on there! I think they might just be easing them back in. But shall soon see what is going on though.

They have done well with her seat cushion and she has a set chair in class for her cushion that moves if she does depending on the table. The teachers had to be shown by another how to do her cream but least that has been done! as i do wonder sometimes how much they do it. Though bless one of her knees was rather a mess when she came home! and she promises me she was not sat on the floor with out it! .. we shall see there too.

Didn't do much with the little man today as my head had other ideas with a awful headache! but thankfully that has gone now! tomorrow we have a dermatology appointment and seeing as the remainder of spots are still there we shall see what she says!!

Rally's and Ikea

Well that was a busy weekend! don't think we ever really stopped!

On Saturday we went and did our shop, which isn't out of the ordinary but this time we went to Aldi, because thanks to Extreme couponing UK on fb I was made aware of a £5 voucher if you spent £40 in a newspaper. So i persuaded the hubby to go and do our shopping in there hoping we could get everything we wanted, as in the past we haven't always got what we wanted and the veg has gone off quickly but we did a really good shop, especially when it includes fresh fruit and veg as well as fresh meat something we can't always get and have been buying things in from Iceland  ( not that there is anything wrong, i rather like it! but yes its processed) . Also with the paper there were other coupons which we used and even though we presented them at the end of our transaction and not at the start (whoops!) the guy wasn't too fussed though thankfully!

Onto swimming, bit of a change of teacher as her uncle is on holiday and so she had one of the others. She does well in a class full of boys! still same old issue but getting better every time!

On to Ikea!  where we bought a little Expedit to help tidy away all the toys and its now up and in the corner and the living room looks a hell of a lot better and we can access everything! Though we had a bit of a panic whilst there as we couldn't find it! Also they had some seat covers/pads so we have bought one for out and about and for school for our daughter so that she has something suitable to sit on so that her legs and knees don't get too irriated with her eczema. Still it didn't look pretty yesterday :(

If that wasn't enough we came home after going picking up some stones for our garden and started to try and tidy it up a little hahah er.. we need more stones then we thought but its going to look nice! and the kids were happy to get involved too after I had on friday complaining that my daughter couldn't use the weeding tools.. I bought some toy ones from Tesco :D

Sunday we went to Heaton Park Rally where basically there are alot of old buses and vintage cars. We've been going for the last what i worked out as 8 years ( sure I must have missed one or two in there!) Kids where happy as we took the football and when we didn't go and have a look around we were playing football and apart from me having a bad mummy moment and not having a go at a stall holder for swearing at my baby ( went and told higher people instead) it was a good day!

Tomorrow sees eldest back in school! she is looking forward to it and i am just for more routine. (And for less whining ) Least she does enjoy it! though not sure what she might make of year 1 seeing as there isn't as much play as reception. fun fun.  And who can believe it is September already!! O_O

Slow news week

When I first started my blog I did want to do it every day! but I have found with the children, and summer holidays there isn't always something to post! Unless you want me to keep posting the same old thing which I doubt you would appreciate! so especially the last couple of weeks I've left it a few days so that I might have something to talk about!

Back to school next Tuesday, got all the things we need, as she hasn't grown that much since the term ended, shoes will last for now and i'm not buying new unless I really have to! Cardigans still fit, she just has new skirts and polo tops and need to check the pe kit but that's not so hard to buy. Plenty of pe pumps around so won't need to buy any of them for a while at least!

I'm looking forward to being able to get back into a routine of sorts, as we've just gone with the flow over the summer holidays, not that this is a bad thing, but i'd like some of my hearing back as well. She talks far to much and as with any child about rubbish! Eczema not so bad at the moment though there are new patches, thankfully the spots are mostly gone  except the ones shes scratched! Got all her medicine for school and will have to remember to take the box next week! Which I can guarantee I shall forget it on Tuesday heh.

Not overly much planned for the weekend, usual swimming and shopping on Saturday and possible planning what to do with the garden as it really needs looking at! Sunday we are going to a event, hubby is going to be driving a bus from work and i get to watch the kids all day oh the fun! :(  but to be honest least I should get to see some friends that I haven't seen for a while! Hope the weather holds up as for out of the last 6 years about 2 have been okay, that being last year and the year before the rest have been naff!!

I'm going to crack on with the washing and putting stuff away, I don't know about anyone else but there are only 4 of us here and I always seem to have the washing machine on! I know with my daughter there is alot of washing due to bloody clothes and with the toddler as he gets into such a mess but, I can never seem to get through it all!  Have a good weekend whatever you are doing!

Bank Holiday!

Well this is the last bank holiday before Christmas, yes the big C word again. Funny how we gear so much of the year for one day? as soon as the children go back to school the adverts for toys start coming on, the shops are advertising for staff and its all one big count down to spend everything and be pigs basically?! no? Being with the family would just suit me, I don't want anything, don't need anything. Love and happiness and health :)  Though have been buying for the children already I hope to have it done well before I have to!

We do however have other things that are needed first, there is my daughters 6th birthday in October! my husband has his 30th ( sssssh he doesn't want to celebrate it!!) in November and there are a few other birthdays in there too! ( not forgotten).Daughter wants to go to the cinema for her birthday so.. we are doing the cheap saturday morning viewing. ( don't care what you think i'm thinking of my purse here lol) and maybe something else i'm not sure yet! And she's not sure what she wants, said we can go to the bear factory and she can have anything in there which i think equates to a teddy from My Little Pony but we'll see! It could change, also she wants M and M's lol!! so yeah!

Bit of a slow weekend, took daughter swimming and she is getting better with the not stopping when she takes a breath but deffinatly needs work!  and her spots are going down now. Just wish we had some ideas with what it could be! Speaking of tests etc she has had some tests results come back as fine even her vit d levels are fine now. ( must be all the sunshine!) but still leads me to wonder then what is wrong. And i know that sounds wrong of me but as a parent I just want to know,  why can we not find  any answers and does anyone actually care?! Not sure there and next week going back to school will be  a test for her eczema to see how it goes. NOT looking forward to that part. Though I am looking forward to getting back into some routine. Summer hols haven't dragged as much as i thought they would and defo not as much as they did last year!! Just need to check her pe kit fits and order her medicine to go int he school box

I should mention people have got on my nerves this weekend but if it wasn't for people changing plans etc i wouldn't have sorted out the crap at the end of our bed so maybe thank you? :-p though don't like being let down and i don't like daughter being let down but hey ho.

Hopefully can sort out why little man has been so grumpy lately and try and sort out these naps! he is currently down for one after being awake at 6. And scream a thon! he isn't 2 yet and we have the tantrums already! Goes to show we really have two completely different children.. except now they tantrum together ;)

Daddies home! and mummy moments

I'm not sure I will forget the delight and excitement on my sons face when he realised his dad was home, yes yes 4 days and all that but as stated we were not use to this. so before anyone else could see ( I was on the couch, daughter upstairs and he had view of the window) he exlaimed. "daddy!" "daddy" and got all excited! when we opened the door and got cuddles he ran over and gave him an "awe" and a kiss. It was so precious that I wish I had my camera open to capture it! So nice to see because sometimes its all mummy and they are both mummies children, that to see little man being so loving was just sooo cute !

Today started off with tantrums already! little man watches us, use the laptops and we have a older one which I let our daughter use, so he now thinks because he can open it he can use it all the time so was getting rather het up over me not letting him play on it. I wouldn't mind but he is just in the phase of "I'm going to bash" everything. So that was fun all before 8, also even though he had had his breakfast he was after stealing his sisters so had to go and make another bowl.. which he did eat to be fair! but piggy and I think I give in to him a little too much.

Daughters spots have gone down, which i think are in thanks to the vivid pink anti biotics or just because its been practically a week since she first got them! her eczema at the moment looks good, but as I have previously said  due to her being so use to scratching she has been scratching these and geeze they don't have bleed if you catch the tops! I feel so sorry for her as it was rather icky! :( I would love to think that once this passes we might have a break. But last night she was up with a sore knee and ankle. No she wasn't putting it on but had to divert her mind away from it. Wish we just had to deal with one thing or nothing at all!  Though I know we cope as well as we can.  And not complaining today as we've had it okay recently in light of things! though school will be a good tell tale of how we are doing!

Will sign off as mowing the front garden has taken it out of me in the sunshine! going to go and see if i can sleep. ! :)

Medical diagnosis number two!

Sorry I've been quiet for the last couple of days, I didn't want it to just turn into me complaining too much with handling the kiddies on my own. I know plenty women and men do this on a daily basis for alot longer ( as i know a few of my friends who do ) Obviously I am not use to it but have made it to Wednesday without pulling my hair out and barely any trantrums. Yesterday was a little trying but oh well there was bound to be atleast one day!! I blame the blue full moon!!

But anyway hubby is back today whooohooo! :) Don't care if he just sits there least i can pass over the youngest and go and do something.

Seeing as eldests spots have gotten no better, or worse I decided to take her to the doctors, which meant a very quick morning this morning, as i was up and so was little man, she was not. Rang the doctors and was able to get a app for in 40 minutes time O_O so I rang upstairs got her up and dressed, got little man dressed, put in pram, gave daughter a banana and was out the door and we made it to the drs with about a minute to spare! I don't drive and the drs is a walk through the park near her school but least we managed to get there!

To say the least the dr annoyed me, I have never seen him before and he seemed a bit ignorant. He took a look at her and then started typing on his computer without speaking to me so I carried on talking. He just muttered that whatever it was it looked infected and he would give some anti biotics. .. Okay so what is it?! well he didn't know what it was. He thought it was bites and now just thinking back over the conversation he thought i said they keep coming up.. well they dont! we don't have pets and not really been any fields... ( they come up well after we came home from camping! can't be delayed by 5 days surely)

So again its not cp, not said its viral, not sure if they are bites. Wtf are they then!! She hadn't eaten anything new last week for a reaction, nore had we been anywhere the day before. So very odd. If she still has then after the anti biotics then I'm booking a dermatology appointment!

Had a enjoyable chat with the mother in law today though, i am rather lucky to have such a great mother in law and i wouldn't change her for the world! daughter was kept busy with her aunty and little man was happily playing so it has been a lovely afternoon.. so far!  children currently having their dinner and we'll see how we go from there!

Meeeep

Well hubby is now away till Wed evening and yes yes its only three days from now but ugh!  felt so heart broken earlier. And I know most of you have read this on my facebook. But honestly I thought i would be ok with it. But I think as it was more him going then me having to stay somewhere that hurt. And that I'm not going to physically see him till wed.. how do people do it?  i couldn't be an army wife that is for sure!

Little girl was heart broken too though not sure if that is because she saw me upset too? though she was upset as daddy has never had to go anywhere in her little life. When i went into hospital to have her brother she went and stayed with my sis so it was a big oooh stay over thing. so bit of a change for her. But Fingers crossed as i write this, both children are in bed, one asleep and one going. Shes had a chapter from her book read as well as a bath so not all bad!

We popped to the shops after daddy left, as she did demand eggs. So we went and got some lunch to try and cheer them up which seemed to work I didn't get one whinge there or back actually... interesting!! when we came home we attempted the pop cake things and though i followed the instructions they wouldn't mesh together so we ended up eating cake crumbs basically lol. Going to see about doing cookies tomorrow or heading out to city centre. See what i feel up to doing.

Daughter is ok, not many more spots, so not a clue whats going on there, and little man has one or two.. but both are fine!?  though me and little man were both awake at 4.. yes 4 am. had to come down stairs eventually and he crashed for 20 mins at 7 ( and another 20 mins at 1:30 ish ) and I've had none! so I think an early night is on the cards and hoping he doesn't wake up so early again. But then again I haven't got anyone else in the bed to disturb.  meh.  Going to try and get through the washing whilst I don't another person adding to it. Funny what you can get done though. Dishes done, hoovered, kids in bed. and its just 8 ;)

Though i must keep away from the chocolate that keeps calling to me! lets see what the week brings for us!

Medical diagnosis!

Ugh! if its not one things its another. Daughter came out in strange spots on her foot yesterday morning, by yesterday afternoon she had them up her legs and some on her arms. This morning she has more on her arms and legs. some on her bum and face and couple on her hands. Diagnosis? well i put it out there for facebook as I didn't have a clue. I thought it might have been bites, other chicken pox, and other viral infection.

Obviously as a mum I was bothered and kept checking on her, gave her anti histamines and checked how she was going on! Decided to go to the pharmacy this morning before swimming to see if they could think of anything. First thing she thought was chicken pox but when i said she had, had them before she immediately said no then. Because she said it was very hard to get it twice, though i know of a family member who has had them twice! So ok told to go to the walk in centre, so she misses swimming again :( Went and waited 20 mins ish for triage where she took one look and said chicken pox or viral.. but said no point waiting the two hours ish for treatment. ( yes i know long!) not much we could do especially since she was on anti histamines already.  just watch for any illness or if she struggles breathing etc. Which I would do anyway!!

Thinking though it is more viral as she is ok in herself, maybe a bit tired. Yes she is itching but there are none on her torso at all. Which i find odd personally. ( checked her bed in case we managed to bring fleas home though no pets or anything. ) nothing in there. So I think it is a waiting game, her spots are not blister like, not like normal cp so more viral but not sure if she should have some sort of anti biotics or something for them or if i should be doing something extra?! not a clue! Just see how we are and at the end of the day if little man comes out with them then we know its cp!!  Feel so sorry for her though, her immune system must be a bit crap for her to get this. Not that she gets coughs and colds but its being attacked all the time with eczema it struggles hen it has something else to deal with! dread to think the onslaught of Eczema or asthma or both we are going to have to deal with.

Sorry fretting mummy here! but she has managed to eat alot today so must be alright. As we went to my mums for a little family party as we've got several birthdays all together so one joint party, was nice to see the little ones playing and big uns being behaved! And for my grandma who had  a stroke a couple months back to being more herself! ( we very nearly lost her :()

Tomorrow I am commanded to do moshi monster pop cake mix that my mum bought for my daughter to do.. so i need to go and buy some eggs and we say goodbye to daddy for a few days. And i'm going to find it hard. Which sounds silly but we haven't been apart except for hospital stays( mine pregnancy) in all the time we've been living together! Which is about 7 years. :( Hopefully he can get wifi whilst he is down on his work thing so we can still talk. ... going to go and mope whilst i watch the rest of Harry Potter!

Back to normal!

We had a library session on tuesday for our daughter, and I'm glad I have paid for these little sessions as she has had some really interesting things to do, thankfully this week i've had daddy to help too so for once I was able to wander off with the little man, whilst he wanted to look at fishes or whilst I nipped into town for some cream for the itchy mozi bites! grr but thankfully they have stopped mostly itching now and are going down whoo!!

And this is my poor foot! obviously its gone down since money but you can see the bites! and I didn't just have them on my foot. Drove me mad!! 

Seems this week is going by very fast and we haven't done alot? Hubby goes away on sunday for a work thing and I get the lovely children to myself from Sunday lunch till wed evening/ night... oh the fun! yes I will get to experience the single parent thing and I'm not looking forward to it. Hoping to get out and go to the museums in Manchester and possibly meet up with friends. Just hoping not to have tore all my hair out by then. The summer holidays are nearly over after all that though! they go back in just over two weeks! where has it gone?! 

 And all we've bought for the new school year? some polo tops. oooh dear lol. Shoes should still do, summer dresses should still do. its the rest. Well cardigans I'm hoping still do too. ugh not looking foward to doing that! Least we have a lunch box etc sorted. Eek can't believe she is going into Year 1. 

Pleased the children today,  as we went Eddie Stobart spotting. We joined up to give us something to do on road trips and our daughter has really gotten into it. So we took her to one of the depots today and she really enjoyed it though we were not there very long! It's nice to do something for her enjoyment. Even if we did drag her around two shops first, but going round Costco isn't a big hardship for her as she gets to eat the samples!! 

Currently looking on ebay for cheap ds games as i'm stocking up on things for Christmas, yes I am saying the big C again because with money tight we will have to spread the costs! Esp with birthdays coming up. No birthdays allowed lol. Though we did see things for little man today, lots of construction toys as he seems to like them atm!
Okay i'm going to leave now before I am murdered for mentioning the big C again. 

And home again!

Well we arrived home safe and sound yesterday, if albeit it tired and itchy! well some of us where itchy! We got attacked by mozi's! and that's not something that has happened before! all I can say is ouch, ouch and omg itchy! if eczema is as itchy as this then I now understand completely why you can't stop scratching! Last night in particular I was trying to have a bath at 2 am to try and calm the itch down :( But anyway!!

We had a lovely holiday down in Dorset, apart from the mozi's and rowdy people not knowing how to shut their kids up or themselves for that matter at 1 am.... very rude! now I know it's a holiday etc and suppose to be fun for all but when there is a tent opposite you know has small children in, have some respect! Two nights on the trot.. If there was another night of it security would have been called but thankfully they had gone!

I personally love Dorset, there are some fanastic views of the coast, it's so much fresher the shops are nicer, the people don't seem as rude. There were plenty of little bakeries.. and well you know cake is on offer! and i'm a cake girl hehe.

I would put more pictures on but i would hate to bore you all with the holiday snaps! We went to stay at Sandford Holiday Park, Park Dean resort. http://www.parkdeanholidays.co.uk/dorset-holidays/sandford/sandford-holiday-park.htm just incase anyone is interested. It has some lovely facilities, the troupers are lovely, we never stayed for the adult nightly entertainment, not even bingo this time lol but no complaints previously, the facilities are clean and the food is a good price, nothing over the top! I would highly reconmend it if you fancy the trip down!  We did a lot of city/ town visits this time round as well as looking at Corfe Castle ( omg i love the place!!  As pictured and i did take this picture)

Also we got to visit Maiden Castle,http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/daysout/properties/maiden-castle/ somewhere that has captured my interest back in college when I studied Classical Civilisations, and learning about Roman Britian, a favourite era of mine. 

Personally if I could I would move down South, not to London or the likes but to here! but I am sure I would miss it too much here, especially when I sound so Northern, and well Proud of it, Proud to be who I am. Wiganer or not! Planning on moving a bit further afield next year, holiday wise, trying out other areas as we have done Dorset two years in a row. Lets see what it brings! and even though we fight with the tent every year, I don't think we would change it!  I shall leave it here or else I shall carry on to waffle all night :)

Camping donts

Well we arrived safe and sound on Monday. It rained as we were leaving and we got to Birmingham before it had cleared which is good as they did say all day!  It did cause some major visibility problems both in and out of the car. But we got here in one piece. Although ran into bits of traffic grrr.

When we arrived and got the tent out it started to spit...got poles in with much fighting (not us the tent) and vowed to write down how we did it. The heavens opened before we had chance to finish.... so much so change of clothes were needed all round.

Eventually it eased up and we were able to get it all in before needing to shop! 

In the course of the last two days we have realised we have forgotton gazebo instructions, though we thought they were in the box. A can opener this is after buying lots of tins...  and might need to wash clothes at this rate!

Phew! have we got everything?!

What a day,  on planning on not going out at all and just getting things done in the house and with the car we had to pop out twice today! first we popped into Leigh on the bus ( whoooo free bus pass ) to get a couple of bits from one of our fav little cheap shops. B and M Bargains. ... I always seem to spend alot of money though lol, drinks, crisps, chocolate, some Jam, Cordial etc etc... I only went in for some uht milk thingies for my coffee!! Went and treated myself to a big coffee from Costa as i still don't have any at home lol and ended up running into the in laws... ( you must own shares in the place ;) ) All the while daughter was upset as we hadn't managed to get any apples as she wants her wobbly tooth to come out. I have told her that  it's not wobbly enough to come out yet even though wobbly.

Came home had lunch and got stuff finally out of the loft, wouldn't think we are going camping tomorrow!! but all down and then the wonderful game of Car Tetris began... we need a bigger car for camping! and no I haven't taken the kitchen sink, all clothes are in vaccum bags, as are sleepings bags and a couple blankets. My great idea of lowering one of the car seats to have stuff lying that way in the car and me in the middle with little man next to me and daughter in the front went out the window when I realised that my big bum wouldn't fit between little man's big car seat and the lowered car seat... bugger!!! can't loose lots of weight over night.. esp from my bum. :( so lots of sorting out and now little man is in the middle I'm on the outside and lots of things are on the other seat. Though doesn't seem as bad as last year!

Had to have another tip out this time to Tesco ( so glad we didn't go this morning!) as we couldn't find our camping mallet and came out with several things! inflatable pillows, egg keeper thing, mallet, chocolate croissants for breakfast and.... apples!!  also scavengers around the reduced bit are ridiculous but thats another tale!!

Children are now in bed, pets are sorted, neighbours have our keys and instructions for the house, only have to do the hoovering and then its all done apart from some minor bits to put in the car!! I shall be quieter this week of course!  which I'm sure you will be glad of! Have a lovely week x!!!

Fri fun and holiday count down!!

Yesterday was a good day. Starting to get all the things together for monday. Children generally behaved.

We had a little game of tennis if you could call it that in the morning followed by home made pizzas which seemed to go down well!! In the afternoon I got bribed to get the kite out and ran around the garden trying to get it up to no avail! But taking it on holiday to see if we can have a game there.

Today saw the other tent finally be collected! ! Whooo thank goodness for that with all the messing around I thought id have to second chance it!

Testing posts from my phone today to see if its possible whilst im away which is less than 35 hours to go. Managed to get lovely neighbours to check in on the pets whilst we are away so no fussing with family. Allllll good. Now i'm off whilst little man is in bed with no fighting. Cup of tea is calling.  (Only cos I have run out of coffee!)

Also on the theme of home made, i did home made tuna pasta bake with no jar sauce and i think mine tasted alot better then the store bought! was rather chuffed as even though I am a stay at home mum sometimes i find no time to do "from scratch" food. 

Home made pizza, this one with mushrooms the other has none has daughter hates them.. ( she is not  mine!)

Wit's end

I start was a huge apology for my poor mother as I now realise even if on a smaller scale what she must have had to deal with when myself and my siblings were kids! Sorry!! I know we were a bigger pain in the bum then what my daughter is to me and what happened yesterday really hits home. Recently daughter has been allowed to do some crafting up stairs, because if she does it down stairs her brother wants to join in and lots of screaming ensue's and I don't want to keep all doors closed  because she wants to do crafting. But it seems i'm going to have to either keep an eye on her or stop it all together.

As yesterday afternoon I found she had cut a little chunk out of her dress that morning, the dress is practically brand new and has been worn like twice, as i had bought it for her holiday. To say i went balistic is probably not  accurate. I was so angry. So told off and grounded and in her room. She later told me her imaginary friend told her to do it -_- and yet even though she had been sent up to her room since about 5:30 she was wide awake till 9. Even having been told to go to sleep lots of times. wtf?! What am i meant to do? Shes under a threat for today that she has to behave and earn back nice things. I don't think i'm being too cruel here but we need to sort stuff out for holiday.

Anyway enough of why i haven't murdered my children yet! Went and had a lovely drink with my mother in law and a couple of ladies from play group we have met up before during the holidays and its always so lovely to get in touch and spend some time together. I truely appreciate their imput and advice. Doesn't matter that these ladies are older then i am.. you don't notice when you get on so well. And seeing as i have no mummies my age ( apart from at school now!) and non of my friends have kids, i am greatful for them and glad to have them in my life xx

Took the kiddies to the library for some magnet making, little man didn't scream... all the way through, eventually managed to get him to have a nap as he had, not had one during the day! whoo so daughter had fun doing the magnets and i might do them at home!

There is a magnet each for each grandma, i won't say which as that will spoil it! but she rather enjoyed herself which was nice for a change and the whole reason i want to do these things! just bugs me i do these things and yet she is a pain in the bum. Or rather we call her a PITA ( pain in the arse lol) love her and love her brother but so trying!

Was glad ( in a way) to see though when divulging my dilema on facebook that it isn't just us and it's very normal for kids to do. Just need to set the boundaries! Well they are set!! lets see how much we can get away with today! 

Manners, crafts and eye tests

Common manners would dictate that surely if you are messaging someone that you would reply, especially when you had been on within the last 5 minutes? no? Trying to sort out collection for this tent is driving me potty! yes they got in touch asking when would be good, so i said any evening and what days i am in. And nothing again for a whole 24 hours. I think it is pretty rude!!  breath.. breath I'm sure i'll hear something soon! I did send another message today saying what times would be good in case they didn't get the message clear enough!!  Can you tell i'm annoyed?!

Yesterday I didn't get chance to write my blog as it took about 3 hours to get little man settled in his bed, to be fair, I had already put him down, and when hubby went up I asked him to run me a bath and id chance it incase he woke up... dear lord!! he woke up kicking and screaming and ended up in the bath with me, then tried to put him back to bed which took two hours ugh! I was so tired and rather fed up. No I don't like the cry it out method and can't really do that as I can't just dump him in the cot, there is no side on his cot so he can get out and personally i think leaving your child to scream in distress is rather cruel! nothing wrong with a cuddle you are not going to spoil them. My daughter although by his age was in her own room albeit in her cot, was not left to cry it out. She was read stories etc and so I try this with the little monster who just wasn't in the mood.  So I thought today was going to be awful when really both children have been behaved, played nicely gone down for naps, ( little man not daughter) and watched dvd's with barely any words. Very odd!


Yesterday they weren't their best, just screaming, tantrums and the rest. Yet when out in town they were well behaved. Daughter went for her eye test and turns out she is slightly long sighted. I hadn't noticed !! feel slightly guilty, i only noticed in the test as she was squinting. So today when watching and curious what she could read i could see she was squinting too. Funny though how shes done so well with her reading this year? Wondering if she has just "stressed" out her eyes a little with all the reading? not sure tbh. Been told to go back in 6 months, no glasses for now and we'll see how she goes. Yet with practically everyone in the family needed glasses( apart from me, touch wood) its not a surprise if one of them needs glasses. Though i felt so.. silly, i didn't even know what my hubbies eye sight was. Stupid memory! Shall see how we go!!

Tomorrow its a drink with the girls! that being a coffee in Leigh with my mother in law and friends and I can't wait, it will be nice to see them and have a chat, hope kiddies behave.. ( I do mean mine!) got a crafting session in the afternoon, some magnet making which sounds a bit interesting! and really hoping that little man doesn't scream all the way though this like he did the bingo.. really wish he wasn't so vocal in the screaming. Yes i know its the way toddlers communicate but not really a great thing when i'm in the middle of people!

Got a few things to get as well for holiday which has definately been confirmed with the holiday sight soo wooo!!! can't wait :)

Here comes the rain again! :)

Well I couldn't resist, its one of my favourite songs (I have a varied music taste! ) And with all the rain we've had on and off today i thought it was app. Although not as much as some who have had it today and barely any thunder storms ( come on!! ) where as in Manchester with hubby there was atleast 4... no fair :( though thunder bothers me a little, I like the lightning. I know I'm weird but if you are reading this then you already know that!!

Not much activity today, I just thought i should post something.. we've had a little bit of a crafty and tv day as its been pouring down. I attempted to sort out toys.. which with the kids around is silly. Attempting to gather things together for our trip and trying to keep fingers crossed that we get some nice weather. I know you get what you get in this country but a little sunshine will be nice please!

In other news the tent sold on ebay for more than the buy it now price! whooo! just need the buyer to get in touch! ( which they better do soon, i did post it needs to be gone by sunday!) another fingers crossed as it would be nice to have the money before we went! 

 Now as you should know I am a BzzAgent, i get to review products  for free! ( Always nice!) all you have to do is complete surveys ( not lots) and do some on line activities. These are pictures of littlest's t-shirt after eating spaghetti. Obviously he is a baby and got it everywhere! normally i wouldn't even dream of getting this all out!

And yet look, i pre treated it first with the Persil stain ball eraser (you just use a little liquid onto the stains and rub it in, which i did do all over)
Put it in the washing machine on a longer load then 30 mins and this is the result! I think it is rather good going. Now don't get me wrong i've had some hit and misses but this is the best one so far, on purpose that is! So i would recommend this. Even just for tough baby stains!!

Biting my tongue.

I know I shouldn't and sometimes I wish I would speak my mind because sometimes, I bottle it all up and I get super pissed off and annoyed about it at home where no where else can hear apart from hubby! ( sorry dear!) Nothing overly in particular but I don't appreciate my dyslexia being compared to something that was self inflicted, drinks involved or not. If you are out late etc then that is your doing!

My dyslexia affects me every day, and alot of the time I take a lot of effort trying to correct my mistakes so that no one knows or at least can tell.  Hell I managed to get to University and hope to go back soon to finish my degree, that has to be something right? (Even impressed Hubby when he was looking at my previous exam results). Also I don't purposely wake baby up at half 5 or anything so if you are up late and tired in the morning then not my problem! I am tired because I've been up early, or been up in the night looking after a child with severe eczema, come back when you can understand this tiredness!!

Also if I had the guts I would have sent a scathing email to a person on Ebay today, who yesterday was trying to buy our new tent for £10 and wanted to come and collect it there and then after putting a bid on. But then today sent me an email wanting to retract it as they had been given a tent ... wtf! messing us around so much! Also still no one else has bidded and it finishes in the morning *hits head* come on! :(

 Hahaha there is me whining about ebay and just gone and looked and there are now bids on the tent thank goodness for that!!  phew.

Today was a lot better then yesterday, didn't have to shout at all today, which is sooo nice, yes a couple of words were said but nothing much. Dvd's were watched, kiddies were happy with ice cream and a hot dog from Ikea.. ( we popped out for a bit) All bathed and in bed and oh so nice :)

So for once not being a mean mummy I let her go out like that ( note she was dressed in leggings and a t-shirt underneath so it didn't aggrivate her eczema, see not even as simple as putting on some "fun" clothes)

Btw he got messier then that!

Got a few things on again this week, opticians for little miss, magnet making on Thursday (please please don't let him scream the place down again) also arranging to meet with friends. And officially one week till holiday!!! can't wait!

Oh and please don't kill me because I asked for the rain... ;) 

Weekend once more

As my daughters grandma said today, If there was a competion for moaning, my daughter would win it hands down every time. This is so true!! whatever you can whinge about she did today. Well this afternoon anyway. I appreciate kids don't want to be active all the time and she'd happily sit and watch dvd's all day if she could but we wanted to get out whilst we had some sunshine left, after all it is set to be very wet for the next week or so ( not complaining!! ) So after we did shopping and swimming this morning ( which she is really coming along with, in my opinion) we had lunch at home and about an hour or so we went for our walk. Not 10 minutes in she started to complain that she was hurting, then she was hot and thirsty. Gave her a drink. Still hot, her head was itchy (due to her hat) etc etc.

I tried to make it fun by trying to guess how many boats there would be on the canal, she was the closest with 7 in the end along the way we counted 16 narrow boats! never seen that many before in one go. And most are nice and give and little way or say hello which is always nice!

We went and searched for butterflies, heard some crickets, watched some bees and dragon flies and had a good day for nature... all around the complaining! Not sure how she manages to fit it all in. However we all made it back in one piece, after stopping at a shop on the way back for a cold drink. We did 3 miles. This doesn't sound alot but it wasn't a straight path and had to carry the pram up some steps. It was nice to get out as a family on a walk though, we don't get much chance to do that, and we proved your legs won't fall off either after 3 miles! lol.

Pity i don't think we can buy her proper walking sandles yet, i know this probably didn't help but it was too warm for trainers or something similar!  but finally she is asleep! eczema doesn't look too clever and there are a few new patches :(  also little man has a little patch ( and i do mean little) on his leg but something to watch over!

\And it needs to rain soon as its too muggy for little man to be comfortable !

Worshiping the single parent

I'm not quite sure how they do it, apart from the fact that needs must!! single parents seem to have the crappy end of the stick, bringing up the kiddies with no peace, having to work if they can as well as trying to sort out the work life balance. It must be so hard! I am thankful that my husband is around for weekends and evenings but omg during the day it is so hard!

Went to the library today, and we were late for some reason I thought the activity was 2.30- 3.30.. .no it was 2-3. I got confused with the other time of 10.30-11.30. So we missed half of spooky bingo. ( it was just spooky picture cards. ) so I had a whining 5 yr old as we were late and then continued to whine because she wasn't winning! To top it off little man was screeching, and screeching as he wanted to go and look at the fish but I couldn't leave misses on her own.. so had to endure all that and wishing the ground would swallow me up as it was so embarrassing and someone I use to work with was there! thank goodness I got on with her but still I'm not very comfortable with seeing people from work. Just own personal reasons that and I left whilst on maternity leave so didn't really say goodbye to people etc. Alas water under the bridge

So after the library we popped very quickly into Leigh and got some ice creams so to keep the children happy, we had been at the park before the library so they've not had a bad day all in all. Except when I get, "I'm bored" etc.. I kinda flipped my lid! Being to the park, going to the library (which i paid for ) ice creams bought and all the toys under the sun upstairs and I get I'm bored, or I can't reach that ugh!!  Also eldest wanted to watch what she wanted on tv but I have put my foot down, as we had it on for hours this morning with inane drivel! god help me.

I know I sound awful but I have done stuff with them today and struggled with trying to keep the 17 month old entertained whilst taking the 5 year old out to do something instead of being stuck at home. Hardly a terrible parent. I also pushed both children on the swing plus a friend of my daughters so I'm not all terrible am I??

I will be glad for daddy to be home and at the weekend so there is another voice of authority to back me up. ... So I'm not just the evil parent in the house ;)

Wandering neighbours and ebay selling!

Finally sold one of the tents! it was the more expensive one and it went a bit cheaper then i would have liked but it is gone, as in gone gone!  not even in the house and was all done within an hour! but least its extra money towards the holiday. So so far we have enough for three tanks for fuel which should last for the holiday! Whoo! seeing as money is a bit tight at the moment it will come in very handy!! and that is is only just over a week to go - 10 days ish the purse strings are tightly tied. Come on holiday!


On another note a neighbour in the street, or rather family member of a neighbour as I'm not sure if she is over here permanently or not thinks it is ok to go wandering into other peoples gardens when they are not in. I watched her do it, She went into the next door's garden, tried the back gate, which was locked. Had a wander in the front and then wandered off. I have no idea if this woman has any  issues mentally, i don't personally think so. She doesn't speak English so i can't tell her to bugger off, as she has been in our garden once letting her grandson ride his trike round our car, i opened the door to see what was going on and she just came and jabbered at me in, what i think was polish ( please don't get me wrong i have no issues with people from different countires!) then she wandered off. I have since heard other rumours that she has stolen things from other gardens but i personally haven't see this.

Not sure if we are just over protective of our properties, but i just think this is a huge violation of space considering the person who lives at the property she keeps visiting has been there a couple of weeks now.  Hate confrontations but i think something needs to be do soon. Like a phone call to the community police etc!!

five minutes peace

Anyone read the book, Five minutes peace, featuring the "Large Family"? well today i felt like Mrs Large ( not due to my weight or anything lol) just at the end of the day, I put little man to bed and settled down to have a nap too as i was awake before 5 this morning! sooo tired. So what do i get, "mummy can you read me a story" this was from my daughter, now i don't really begrudge her a story (though she is fully capable atm of reading one to herself) but i was so tired. so i said five minutes.. but she carried on complaining where it meant it woke her brother up ugggh!! Eventually got him back to sleep and went to read her a story under my terms. But doesn't change the fact now that i'm super tired.

I need a really good coffee! But thankfully it isn't long till bed time. And I am hoping i get some decent sleep tonight. The main thing is three days into summer holidays and I haven't killed the children yet ;)!!

Here are a selection of photos from our walk on Monday to the park at Pennington Flash. We are really lucky to live a nice walk away from such a beautiful park. The top picture is of the canal and my daughter this was at 9 am as we wanted to get out before it got to hot, she was trying to get around me  as i said don't keep throwing pebbles in or you'll end up falling in like your uncle... ( i won't embarass you ;) ). Middle picture is a new ish structure that resembles lock doors that we get on a canal it says "unlock" on it. It shows we haven't been down this way for a while as i hadn't seen this before  the bottom picture is the path heading out of the park and towards the main road, i took this as i like forest esq paths. I often find myself day dreaming about such paths. Seeing as i like to write creatively and role play on line ( think online story writing but with others joining in the plot!) i try to imagine these sorts of scenes. That and it is so calm and peaceful! I really am  a nature girl at heart. 

Going to go and get some sleep me thinks and see if it is nice enough to go to another park tomorrow. We need to get out and on the cheap! Take care x

Not for the conventional British Summer this year ( so far!) we have had three weeks of sunshine and heat wave without a trace of rain and barely even clouds, until today! but even then where we are there hasn't been that much rain so far!  Not long after we woke up there was a brief thunder storm  and it rained but not for very long and for the rest of the day it's just been very muggy! blergh!! if i knew it wasn't going to rain again i wouldn't have taken mine or the kids coats as we have been out today. 

Today we were at the library again doing "bug craft" which basically came down to making a paper bat, Styrofoam spider and a painted rock thing ( yes thing! i shall have to get pictures later!!) bit of a mess and a faff and very busy! but least it was something for an hour. After that we went and pestered my sister and her family for the afternoon, at least daughters managed to go outside and play for a little bit!

 Silly mummy today forgot to give eldest her anti histamine... and then visited my sisters, very silly thing  to do as my sister has cats and she is allergic but thankfully sister had some eyedrops and a antihistamine or else we would have had to go home! It's not like me to be so unorganised! but this morning it was different with hubby working from home and heading out to the library...must must set myself a alarm. 

I hope some more rain comes tonight this muggy heat needs to go and soon. Id like us all to get some sleep! 

car booting!

Well the carboot is over with and... we still have the tents! O_O not one person was interested which was a real shock to us. we were not asking for silly money, just a reasonable figure as one tent is brand new and the other has only been used once, honestly. I appreciate people don't want to buy something that might have lots of holes in or torn up but i would have happily given them my mobile number and told them to call us back if there were any problems. But no, we had one person saying that he bought them and sold them on, but wasn't interested... er why? and another family saying what we were asking as too much... family tent used once, cost over £100 new and we wanted £50 for it? too much? i don't think so! and the other brand new tent worth £60 we wanted £30 for it. Oh well maybe we are dreaming too much.

But we DID make some money yesterday, though by the end of the day we wanted rid and were selling stuff for 10p!! some people got some series bargains but we didn't want to bring it home! Close eyes and never mind.

Yesterday afternoon wasn't very good in terms of health. Little man fell over and scrapped his nose, head and chin and after that he went and slammed the door on his thumb!! He is ok, thumb is ok just a cut on it  ( that didn't bleed? ) and his face as the usual battle scars! he is too much like his mum and bashes his nose far too often! Poor daughter too was suffering with her legs all afternoon. Honestly its driving me mad. She had heat packs and medicine. Barely ate tea and went to bed. Wish i knew what to do.... and shes been scratching so its that the eczema joy over with?


Well its the first official week of the Summer holidays here! got stuff at the library planned for Tuesday and Thursday. Planning to go to the big park today whilst it is nice, as the rest of the week its set to rain and thunder! Just need the rain to bugger off this time in two weeks!! countdown to holiday is on!!!

Eczema Joy?

Sorry for the lack of quietness yesterday with everything going on and how hot it was I was just not in the mood to try and sit and write something. But today has been better and not so hot so i'm not melting with the laptop!!


For a change my daughter's eczema is actually healing.. I have never seen her skin so calm and it would be typical that after at least 12 months of it being awful and planning a dvd with her dermatologist that when we come to film it that my daughter is fine... well fine for her! no open sores, barely any redness. Nice to touch. in all her 5 1/2 years I've not seen her skin so nice. So what has caused this? and in conclusion I think it is the heat shock horror! at first and in the past with any amount of heat she has flared up horriblely and as the last couple of weeks, pictures and rants have shown it goes bad. But now that we have had this heat for three weeks her body is thinking oooooh I can heal this is nice! And it is, though we are still having problems with her joints and now a wobbly tooth ( don't ask! ) but nice skin and to give her a break even if it is going to be briefly is some relief!
DVD is for the project we are helping out our dermatologist with, it is a new pack that will be given to all "new" cases of eczema in children ( not sure if its adults as well). And we were more than happy to help. Won't go into more detail.. in case i'm not supposed too lol.

Today has seen us spend money on stuff i was not expecting to buy.. couple things for camping. and new clothes for missues, though some things in there are for the new school term! ( i need to spread it out!) However these clothes (apart from the polo tops) were all on sale thanks to Asda lol. Poor little man is the one who missed out today for a change!

Been preparing for the car boot tomorrow and not looking forward to the very early start! but needs must and hoping people will come and buy some things. please!! Just a bit of extra money for our holiday. Fingers crossed for fine weather and plenty people!

Wasting time

Personally I hate being late for things, and I hate wasting my time, be it on people on in appointments or  just sat around waiting. I hate it! ( seems to be a theme of the week) I feel like my time has been wasted today in going to this Dr's appointment. We were not seen by our usual doctor, although she was there. (So i didn't get to have my go wondering why our appointments were moved around) And we've had to go through things again ( when you have a eczema, asthma etc suffering child you find in alot of appointments you are going through family history etc alot!!)

So we just seemed to go over what had been said before he checked her joints, her eczema is actually manageable today as well as her asthma as he said her chest sounded clear ( whoo!) But basically nothing has changed and I've been told she has growing pains. Even though it is affecting all her joints.. er I don't think so even looking at the web ( yes yes i know again) doesn't say it affects joints so... wtf!! Not happy at all. And Just ended up with two screaming children, one because blood was being taken from her again. And the other because he thought he was being seen too and because mummy was going into another room. (Hits head against a wall!). It's not fair.

But anyway she took it as she always does, mostly in her stride, though she does not like having her blood taken as they can't take it from her hand ( hard to get veins!) and no special spray on her elbow because of her eczema.  Hate putting her through it. wondering if i should just stop and try and get on with it?

We had a nice time though after, took her for some lunch, and a ice cream and popped to school to pick up her medicine, though it was well past closing time! Feel a bit guilty for not getting her to say goodbye to some of her friends for the summer. as i don't have some of the mums contacts! doh!

So after melting at home we went to our last after school library session and melted in there instead!! and here are our creations. Thankfully this week Thomas didn't scream it down and was rather happy trying to decorate/ eat cake!!

We were only meant to do two each but because only a handful of us turned up instead of the 18 that had been listed we got to do 5 each lol. Daughter had one and little man had attacked the top of another but refused to let him eat it in the car as we had just cleaned it out this morning!

Tomorrow brings the first day of summer holidays and what are doing? we are back in town again with the dermatology department for an appointment.. as well as filming for a dvd!! all fun. Take care x

On the ball!

Well I am a little pleased with myself today, I hate and I mean hate ringing the tax office but I got my finger out and did it, it always makes me feel sick though because really they can change your life with what they say and what they give. And at the moment we rely on that money as it pays for the food coming in! Scary but don't want to think about that at the moment. Seeing as what money we have coming in has gone down i'm keeping fingers crossed that it would go in our favour. I just have this fear of being told off, a bit silly but you would think i would want to do these things sooner so i wouldn't get told off.... this is coming from a 27 year old. Yeah.

Long day today though, hot, sticky, even more hard work when daughter came home as she was in a horrible mood all the way home probably due to the weather but she was upset as one boy out of her class got a reward today, ( no one else did) seemed to be one person out of each class but she was upset and she is upset as she won't get her attendance one tomorrow as she is at a hospital appointment! I don't want to have to rush to put her into school for an hour seems like a waste of time. Not sure what to do at all! Oh to be 5 again and for these to be my only worries. I am just thankful that shes not been ill enough to miss a full day even will her issues.

Speaking of which it is our appointment tomorrow! I suppose I had better write down what i want to talk about or else I will forget. Again problems with being dyspraxic means I forget what to say or forget what's been said. I fear though we are going to get fobbed off again and nothing is wrong. Shall see what happens!

Been sorting out through the attic for some things to sell on the car boot on Sunday. Even selling a brand new tent. Trying to be ruthless .... so many books that we want to keep hold of but i know as well that they must go. ..I NEED a library lol. Alright I shall go and melt into bed and see what tomorrow brings.

You know you are a parent when....

One bowl of cereal can cause chaos! As you can imagine mornings are a bit hectic as they are for many families, as well as getting my daughter up ready for school I have to make sure that she has all her creams on and all her medicine so i know she isn't going to suffer at school all day. Even though they do put cream on sometimes I don't personally think they do enough, though i do appreciate they have 20 + students to take care of. If only i had her to deal with but no, i have the 17 month old who likes to think he can have crisps for breakfast....seriously! several times this week and it's only Tuesday!!

So yesterday daughter wants cereal, this is fine, i make her a bowl not to large or small ( because you know i'll get into trouble because its one way or another!! ) and carry on seeing to the little monster.. er i mean my son whilst she is eating etc. After one of two mouthfuls she says she is full... right ok fine, tell her to take it through to the kitchen which she does.

Not ten minutes later she says she is hungry, which annoys me a bit and by now her original cereal is a heap of mush in the kitchen! so I say ok go and get some Soreen! but because i do this and the little man sees he wants some so ok, i go and get the other packet from the kitchen, having not noticed the little monster had been there already and got hold of the first bowl of cereal which had been on the edge of the counter and tipped it all and its mushy mess down the cupboard door and on the floor. One little bowl of cereal, that if daughter had eaten, would have saved two Soreen packets ( the lunch box size), saved a screaming toddler and saved a mess in my kitchen!! who would have thought it lol.

Government forms oh the joy!

Not that many people know, but I am dyslexic and dyspraxic. I find it sometimes difficult to spell and to write grammatically correct, thank goodness for  spell checker and my hubby who helps me whenever I am stuck! But I am in charge of filling out the forms as with our daughter I am her main career in terms of doing her creams, going to all the appointments etc as hubby works full time so it only makes sense that I do it, but geeze this form is so long and complicated and asks questions again but in a different way so you have to make sure to re word it to go with the question but at the same time not making any mistakes that sounds like you don't need any help.

It got me rather down today thinking of it all. Now I know ok, that my daughter is happy, she is intelligent ( boy is she! ) but thinking through it all, what limitations there might be on her, what processes we have to go through just for a simple day out or just going to the pool are  well.. immense! making sure all medicines have been taken, creams put on, the right choice of clothing, a cushion if needed. etc. And its not like she has any food allergies! I'm not sure how other mums and dads do it! This is why sometimes I feel so helpless and.. lacking as a parent as I am not coping! then again this is one of the reasons why I made Eczema Support!

Blah! okay not thinking of any more government forms today, I shall finish it tomorrow if possible and get it photocopied so I know what I can write for next time! As I have filled one of these out before but last year! Suppose since Eczema etc changes that she could be" fine" this time next year... oh I wish! We shall see what happens this week though as we go for our hospital appointment on Thursday and our dermatology appointment on Friday! busy week really!

In other news i've been testing out the new Persil product and I am not overly impressed, scrubbed the solution into daughters school dresses and they are still grubby! and yet put it in with little man's vests, one not covered in food etc or chocolate ( like another one had been and been scrubbed and it hadn't all come out) but the collar had been stained a different colour, this colour had come out!! and I didn't even scrub it. Very odd and seems to be hit and miss but I shall keep trying it!

Play group party tomorrow, should be good, not to hot and some time out with the family before more form filling! all good really!  Let the week continue! Please forgive me for the ramble as I need this outlet x
